What Worship Means to Us

People show up at church on a Sunday morning for a lot of different reasons.  Sometimes, because they want to meet with and worship God.  Sometimes because someone else is dragging them.  Sometimes because it’s just what they do on Sundays.  Whatever YOUR reason for looking for a place to worship, we have a clear priority in our worship services.  We want to give ourselves to God in worship. 

So what does that mean?  Does it mean giving lots of money?  Raising our hands while we sing?  Taking notes while the pastor talks?  No.  It means we praise God for who He is, learn about what God wants for our lives, and then live that out by serving God at home, at work, in the church and in the community.  Basically, it means we “Worship, Grow, and Give."

So we invite you to come experience one of the services for yourself.  Come worship with us, and consider whether or not Peru First Baptist could be a place that you can Worship, Grow, and Give!

What Should I Wear?

We always get this question—”Do I have to dress up?”  The answer is “no.”  But you don't have to come in a t-shirt in jeans either.  The answer to this one is entirely up to you!  You can come in a suit or in jeans.  It’s up to you. We meet God as we are.

Our Services:

Contemporary Worship - 10:50am

Our contemporary service features a full praise band that leads the congregation in singing, scripture readings, and prayer.  In this service we sing with the band, hear from scripture, interact with multimedia, pray, view dramas, and hear from the Word.  If you love upbeat Christian music (like what you might hear on the radio) this service would be a great fit for you.

Traditional Worship - 8:30am

Our traditional service is a service of gospel hymns, scripture, prayer, and the Word.  Each Sunday we worship together with organ music and congregational singing.  We read scripture, pray, hear special music, and listen to a message.  The traditional service is energetic, and rooted in the musical style many of us grew up with.  If you love hymns, this service would be a great fit for you!
